Bobsleigh has a great tradition in Winterberg. The first natural ice bobsled run was launched in 1910.
The new artificial ice rink was opened in 1977 and the finish line was changed in 1986 and the rink was brought to a high technical level. The 776m high ice channel is one of the fastest in the world. With the famous "roundabout" or the "Omega" curve, top speeds of up to 150 km / h are possible. Bob tobogganing or skeleton championships are held regularly.
